Sunny Day!

Had a Great day with the Thrive group!
The Thrive group went for a sunny day walk at Friend's Landing in Montesano.  It was a really fun time and a beautiful walk around the lake!

I brought Bentley with me and he loves riding in my little car...
he OWNS the back seat!

Today I strapped a teddy bear to Bentley's pack.  It was pretty funny to watch the looks on people's faces when they saw him.  That bear had a pretty rough ride, but didn't get bucked off!

Stacie's Visit :0)

Hanging together at the "Twin Party!"

We had an amazing time celebrating our birthday together for the first time in 10 years!  So many of our family and friends came to party with us and we were totally blessed!

Stacie hanging with her new niece Zoey Brielle!

Stacie came home and got to meet her newest niece for the first time.  Zoey is so friendly so she took to Stacie right away and they had lots of fun times together!

I love this picture... it makes me laugh!

Growing My Missionary Heart

Christian Camps

Working 8 summers and several full years at camps taught me a lot about myself and reaching out to others.  Horses are great tools in reaching kids (and adults) with the love of God!

Go Camp Rocks!

Go Camp is an AMAZING experience where adults, youth, and families move into the church for a week of life changing FUN!  The worship rocks and the human video touches hearts during outreach around the community.  The coolest thing is to see the many blessings that flow up and down through the generations!

Visiting Sendai, Japan

I went to visit my twin sister in Japan where she taught English for 3 years.  Here she is with some of her students in her classroom.  This was my first taste of international travel and it was an amazing and fun experience!

Adventures in Myanmar!

In 2009 I went to visit my sister in Yangon, Myanmar where she teaches English to the children of missionaries.  We started our trip with some sightseeing and then spent time with the children she teaches.

The Kyat looks like so much money.
Tofujo... one of my favorites!

The Market
Shopping at the markets was fun but very different than shopping here in America.  Bartering is essential and I felt like I was running from vendors because they followed me around the market begging me to buy things... my heart wanted to buy it all, but I knew I couldn't.

Traveling by boat on Inle Lake during rainy season...
we got pretty soaked, but at least it was warm!
A common scene of a boater... standing up to row.

Inle Lake
A town totally built on and basically in the lake.  No cars around, just boats to get where you are going.
We rented a boat for the day to shop and see the beautiful scenery and stayed in a hotel that was surrounded on all sides by water.

These are some of my sister's students.
The Amazing Kids!
After spending some time touring my sister headed back to work and I got to meet her wonderful students.  These kids are amazing and so bright.  Starting at age 3 they began learning to speak, read, and write 4 languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, and Burmese.  Watching them learn made my head spin!

Reflecting on My Life

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
                                                                               2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Thank you Lord for all the different experiences in my life... some haven't been fun, but I praise you that they will work for good in helping others.  You are so faithful and wonderful to me!
